Marine environments pose significant corrosion challenges to steel structures due to the presence of salts, oxygen, and microorganisms. This research investigates the effectiveness of nanomaterials, such as graphene oxide and carbon nanotubes, as corrosion inhibitors for steel in marine environments. The study will evaluate the protective properties of these nanomaterials, including their ability to form a barrier layer on the steel surface, their influence on the electrochemical behavior of the metal, and their long-term durability in marine conditions.
